DOWNTOWN VISION

Downtown is in the midst of a major transformation that will shape its future through 2030. Creating Choice ~ Connecting Community points toward the City’s dual vision for enhanced downtown activity, new transit options and even greater access to open spaces. It incorporates:

A two acre park
New trails and transit connections
Historic, commercial and residential spaces that unfold in and around an energetic and vibrant Downtown.

DOWNTOWN PROJECTS

Several City and private projects in the planning stages are currently under construction. Others have been completed and are either leased or in the process of being leased. Many of the projects are mixed commercial and residential use, while others incorporate innovative elements of mixed use and greenscapes; all of which will create a dynamic City vision as developed through its Comprehensive Plan.

Downtown Historic Walking Tour

Local historian Tom Hitzroth leads the tours with the stories of Redmond's early history and its people.

Tours begin at the Justice White House, 7730 Leary Way NE, at the west end of Redmond Town Center where the Saturday Market is held. The suggested donation of $10 benefits the Redmond Historical Society, and is payable by credit card on the Society's website, or by check to 16600 NE 80 Street, Room 106, Redmond, WA 98052.

Registration is required by the Friday before the tour.

Tours include a significant amount of walking and standing, with limited opportunity for resting. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing is recommended. Rain on the day of the event cancels the tour.
